Chris’ electrical /mechanical background is in the maritime industry, firstly serving his apprenticeship in the Royal Navy as a Weapons Engineering Mechanic (Radio), servicing and maintaining electrical and electronic radar and radio equipment. After leaving the service Chris joined the Merchant Navy working in an electro/mechanical role on a number of vessels gaining a broad base of mechanical knowledge and obtaining engineering watch keeping status. In 2005 Chris joined Vestas Celtic UK working in  a construction/ commissioning and service role throughout the UK and Ireland, this gave him the opportunity to gain varied and extensive knowledge of all aspects of the wind industry from the ground up at the early stages of the UK ‘s  wind energy portfolio. Chris was then employed by Dong energy UK at the Burbo Bank offshore site in a multi disciplinary capacity including supervisory/ technical roles performing HV substation/turbine switching duties and watch keeping tasks, as a Nominated Competent Person (HV). As a director of AWS Chris brings and knowledge of the Wind Industry only readily available to those with long term ‘coal face’ credentials.
